I really enjoy your use of percussion in this piece. I've noticed in listening throughout your stuff that you use percussion very well - something that is lacking in a lot of music. You manage to keep things interesting by adding tasteful embellishments. Good melodies here, I like the sort of counterpoint feel you have with the piccolo. I really would like to see this expanded! I think you could make this into something huge. The ending is a bit abrupt - feels kinda like "oh hey I'm done now".

Good work, as always.

Step responds:

Haha thanks! Yeah, this is a bit of quickie... in fact I did expand on this, since this is a short version of a longer song I had made previously, called 'Morocco', which you can find here if you're curious :P.

Yeah the ending is kind tacked on. You're totally right! Glad you like my percussion by the way; I've found that I literally cannot make a song without percussion haha.

Thanks again!

I really like this piece. You have a good build going on, and I love that you return to the main theme often enough to keep it consistent. You're making a good atmosphere here. I like that the climax at 2:42 is subtle and constrained, but still effective. A well balanced piece, good work!

This is so beautifully written and performed. Bravo.

Shanath responds:

Thanks. :3

I do this song a lot, actually. I was wondering if any Christian music would show up on this site. :) I may have to post some originals sometime.

The track sounds good - bass isn't too bassy, but other than that I like it.

Bosa responds:

Thanks. I'm hoping to do some different guitar work though

Sounds good, I like it! I really like the percussion groove you have going and the sort of "western" feel, if you can call it that. Best of luck with the contest - good work.

Step responds:

Haha, you got me. At first I wanted to make this sound western. Ended up sounding like this though :P.

Yeah the percussion groove has a rhythm that I am absolutely adore. I've already used a similar rhythm in like three other tracks.

Glad you liked it man! Thanks for leaving a review.

I really like the feel you have here. Good use of percussion. Between 1:36 and 1:37 it sounds like there's a glitch in the audio. I really like the sounds you're using, is that EastWest I hear? Choir sounds good.

It seems like you have two builds here; would have like to have something a little bigger come out around 2:00, but it sorta falls off.

That said, I really like the build you have from 2:00 onward - you do a good job layering and providing tension, though the ending once again sort of drops off.

Overall, well written.

I really dig the beginning - not sure how I feel about the sound you chose for :30 to 1:00, doesn't seem to mix with the rest of what's going on. Otherwise, fantastic groove.

Aqua8B responds:

Thanks, this is like my first song of this Music style, and i found it pretty hard to get the sound i chose(0:30-1:00), right with the melody, in the future i will 100% use this info, with creating these type of songs
And Thanks!!! :D
Its very much Appreciated!!! :D :D

Really enjoy the not so cookie-cutter chord progressions, it's refreshing. Good choice of sounds. Not sure I'd call this techno, though. The hi-hat seems to be a little out of time between 1:00 and 2:00 (not sure if that was intended or not).

Love the piano breaks in between sections. Overall, well done.

Stargenx responds:

Thanks for the review! The hi-hat was intended to be off the beat, yes. Also, I'm a pianist, so piano is what I do. :)
I called it techno, because to me it has a lot of synthesized instruments, doesn't fit into a sub-genre of techno and doesn't fit into any non-techno genres. If you'd be able to send me a genre-change suggestion, I'd happily see if it would fit!

I'm impressed with this piece. Thoughtful approach; I like that the melody falls to the lower strings and is countered by the high winds, followed by low brass, etc. - makes for an interesting listening experience. Well done.

Available to do soundtracks for your game/film. PM me for details.
